Daily Devotion 8/16/18
Psalm 73:23-26
23 Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Your heart may be pulled in many directions today. But these verses gives us the confidence and contentment we need. God, your Savior, is with you every minute of today. He is holding you by your right hand, and he is guiding you in his counsel. If anything should happen to you today, you know that he is going to take you into his glory where you’ll be with him forever. What more could we ever want? We have Jesus with us every minute. He is guiding us in his wisdom. He holds our hand and guides our steps like a father guides his child. And he promises that if anything happens he’s going to take us to him in heaven. We have the one we need, and that gives us confidence today.
Dear Jesus, thank you for always being with me. Thank you for guiding me and giving me your counsel and wisdom. Watch over me today that if something should happen, bring me to your side in heaven. Amen.
