Ruth 2:21-23 Then Ruth the Moabite said, “He even said to me, ‘Stay with my workers until they finish harvesting all my grain.’”
22 Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, “It will be good for you, my daughter, to go with the women who work for him, because in someone else’s field you might be harmed.”
23 So Ruth stayed close to the women of Boaz to glean until the barley and wheat harvests were finished. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
Do you know what amazes me about the book of Ruth? Never once does God tell these people what is going on. Never once does God say, “Here’s what I’m doing for you.” Not at all. But there God is working through the seemingly mundane aspects of life. The most basic relationships God was working through for the good of Naomi and Ruth. You may not see God’s direct hand in your life, but know that is how he works with you too. He’s working through the seemingly mundane relationships you have. He’s working through the seeming dead end job. He’s working through the small details of your life. So know that even the smallest of details and the most mundane things of life God can and does work through. That gives meaning to just about every part of your day.
Dear Lord, thank you for using every aspect of my life for your plans. That gives every moment significance. Be with me today and help me to be in the present. Help me to see every detail the way you do. Continue to be with me and bless me both now and forever. Amen.
