Romans 8:39  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

One of the biggest lies that Satan wants us to believe is that because of what we’ve done God can’t possibly love us. We feel guilty and there’s nothing that we can do to go back and change what we’ve done. So we distance ourselves from God because if he can’t love me, why do I want to be by him? To be judged and ashamed? Forget it. But look what Jesus says, “Nothing can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” No matter what you’ve done, no matter how you’ve failed, no matter your mistakes, nothing can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, he died for all your sins, mistakes, and failures. No matter what you’ve done, God will not take his love from you because of Jesus. What joy we have today knowing that our Savior lived, died, and rose for us so that God’s love will never be taken away from us.

Dear Jesus, thank you for taking my punishment for me. It is because of you that God’s love will never be taken from me. Today, help me to listen to your Word so that no matter what guilt might try and tell me, I recognize the lie and believe the truth of your Word. Amen.
