Acts 17:26-28  From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

God himself is into building bridges. Paul says that from Adam God created every descendant of Adam. The nations that cover the earth all come from God. Their migrations and accomplishments are in God’s hands. Empires rise and fall according to his will. Civilizations and cultures and the geography and history of nations are all in his hands. Through all of this God shows his power and intelligence in creation and history. Why? So that people would realize that an intelligent and powerful being is in charge of the universe. This knowledge should make people reach out and seek God and find him. The people of Athens were close. God has given you and me similar bridges. He gives us the beauty of nature, our consciences, and he gives us medical advancements to observe how great the human body is. Why? So that we look at say, “There’s a higher intelligence. There must be a God.” These are just a few of the bridges that God has established to reach us so that we reach out to know him. They are reasons to praise God for today. See them in your lives. Thank God for them because it is through these bridges that God introduces you to the ultimate bridge: the Savior.

Father in heaven, thank you for reaching out to me in so many different ways. It’s amazing to observe you in nature so that I can see your power and your design. Let me see these today and praise you for them. Lead me to my Savior today who is the ultimate bridge to you. Through him I know I am forgiven. Amen.
