Isaiah 59:1-3

Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save,
    nor his ear too dull to hear.
But your iniquities have separated
    you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
    so that he will not hear.
For your hands are stained with blood,
    your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken falsely,
    and your tongue mutters wicked things.

Have you ever wondered why you can’t just see God right now? Why does God hide himself and not just appear to you? It is because of sin. Our failures, our mistakes, our sins make us imperfect. Not only are we separated from God but we can’t see him otherwise we’d die. Seriously! But here’s the amazing thing about our God: he doesn’t just leave us. He doesn’t turn his back on us. Instead, he continues to reach out to us to connect with us. He reaches out through our consciences. We know when we’ve done something wrong, not because the government tells me but because God does. We see that God is powerful in nature. We see his wisdom in creation. All of these are bridges are connections that God is making with us. Because even though we continue to turn our back on God, God continues to reach out to us. Look around and you’ll see those bridges today. You’ll see all the ways that God is reaching out trying to connect with you and the rest of humanity. So today, observe your faithful God. Praise him for wanting to connect with you. And then do just that. Connect with the God of this world through Jesus our Savior.

Dear Lord, thank you for continuing to reach out me every single day of my life. Thank you for never turning your back on me but instead you remain faithful always. Help me to see the way you’re reaching out to me and then let me connect with you through your Word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
