Romans 12:2  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

There is a big misconception among Christians that worship is just a Sunday morning thing. Maybe a Saturday night or Monday night when an alternative service is held. But Paul lays out the truth that worship is more than gathering on Sunday morning. Worship encompasses the whole life of the Christian. Worship is not conforming to the pattern of this world, but rather living for God. That means that my priorities, the way I use my resources, the way I spend my time, the way I view my body and the body of others, the way I speak and the language that I use, and every aspect of my life needs to conform not to this world but to God’s will. That is true worship. As people who know that we are forgiven because of Jesus, we will not conform to the pattern of this world. Instead, let’s worship God by living according to his will.

Dear Lord, thank you for your love and mercy that you pour out on me daily. Help me not to conform to the pattern of this world, but instead let my thoughts, words, and actions be in alignment with your will. Amen.
