Colossians 1:17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Scientists have “discovered” a new matter called “dark matter”. The reason I have discovered in quotes is because they haven’t really discovered it. They assume it exists. Dark matter can’t be measured. It can’t be observed. It can’t be seen under a microscope. Yet, they believe it makes up 85% of matter in the universe. So why do scientists believe it exists? Because according to their calculations the galaxies would fly apart instead of rotating if some dark matter wasn’t working on it. In other words, there’s some dark matter that we can’t see that is holding everything in the universe together. Scientists may not know what it is, but we do: he’s Jesus. The one who holds all things together. He holds H2O together. He makes sure gravity continues to work. He makes sure your respiratory system works. All things hold together through him. If Jesus stopped maintaining all things, we would fly away, the sun wouldn’t come up, our hearts would stop beating, and everything would end. Praise God we have a loving King who sits on the throne. Thank God we have access to this King 24/7. What more could we want!?
Dear Jesus, you are all powerful. You keep all things moving in motion and make sure everything continues to work. Help me to appreciate just how great you are today and always. Amen.
