That week in Jerusalem was unlike any other. When Jesus entered on a donkey, the crowds cheered, waving palm branches and shouting praises, but they didn’t fully understand what was happening. By the end of the week, those same crowds called for His crucifixion. Only Jesus truly understood the path ahead—betrayal, suffering, and the cross. He embraced condemnation willingly so that we, the condemned, could go free. Jesus, the innocent one, took our punishment so we could receive freedom we couldn’t earn. As we reflect on that week, let’s thank God for Jesus’ sacrifice and the eternal, unshakable freedom He offers to all who believe.
