Stronger Together

Dear Church Family,

After all that God has done for us, we want to serve and obey him. We want to help other people get to know who he is so that they might come to a saving knowledge of what Jesus has done for them. Yet the battle against sin does not let up. Ever. Temptations assault us every day in a thousand different ways and they will continue to do so until the day God calls us home. So what can we do? How can we serve God and avoid sin? How can we avoid hurting others, bringing disgrace and unnecessary suffering into our lives, and even jeopardizing our faith? Friends, let’s be honest. We are weak.

But our God is strong—and mighty to save! He alone has power to help us in our struggle against sin. Therefore, we pray the sixth petition earnestly and with eager expectation of God’s help: “Lead us not into temptation.”

One of the ways God helps us in our struggle against temptation is through Christian connection—worshiping together and gathering together for Bible study and prayer. We need each other for encouragement and accountability. And so I look forward to seeing you either this Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday at 9:30 am. All are welcome!
