His Pain, Our Gain

“No Pain, No Gain” is a motto for physical exercise that promises great reward for the price of hard and even painful work. The idea is that we can achieve success by our own hard work and suffering (physical, mental, emotional).

There is no amount of effort we could give or suffering we could endure, however, that can achieve spiritual success. For that we need a different motto. We actually need someone to be our substitute and take our place.

“His Pain, Our Gain” is the motto of this series because we see how Jesus is our perfect substitute. During the Sundays in Lent we will look at how Jesus’ efforts and what he endured earn success for us in the eyes of God, now and forever. We praise God that “His pain is our gain!”

Every step on the way to the cross, we will see that the hard work is done for us.
