Read Genesis 26

Scripture- Genesis 26:19-20 Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there. 20 But the herders of Gerar quarreled with those of Isaac and said, “The water is ours!” So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him.

Observation- Isaac made mistakes, he ran into hardships as his dad’s wells were plugged up, and he quarreled and had disputes over wells that he rightfully dug. Yet, look how the Lord blessed him through it all. 

Application- My life is so similar. I make mistakes, I run into hardships, and I get wronged. It is easy to look down at every individual event and focus on it, but if I take a 30,000 foot view, I can see clearly how God is blessing me through it all. Maybe those blessings are financially, maybe they are stronger relationships, or maybe it’s a stronger trust in who God is and what he’s done for me. Either way, I’m going to step back and see how God is blessing me today. 

Prayer- Thank you, Father, for always working for my good. When life gets tough, help me to see the big picture and what you’re doing. Amen.
