Read Exodus 7
Scripture- Exodus 7:5 And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”
Observation- In chapter five, Pharaoh said to Moses, “Who is the Lord that I should obey him…? I don’t know the Lord…” The Lord was going to be made known to Pharaoh one way or another. Either he was going to learn about the Lord through Moses and listen and obey, or the Lord would stretch out his hand against the Egyptians and be made known through judgment.
Application- This is a consistent message throughout Scripture. The Lord wants to be made known to me and will be made known to me. I can either know him here and grow in his grace for me, or I can learn of him at the end when I bow my knee to the judge of the all the world. I am so thankful that he has made himself known to me through the Word. Through the Word, the Holy Spirit has opened my eyes, softened my heart, and has kept me believing that Jesus is my Savior. I will gladly and continually grow in the Word that I may know him and his grace more.
Prayer- Father, thank you for making yourself known to me through your Word. There are so many things in this world that pull at my attention, but none more important than you. Continue to send your Holy Spirit into my heart to strengthen my faith in you as I get to know you better and better. Amen.
