Read 1 Samuel 5
Scripture: 1 Samuel 5:4- 4 But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained
Observation- God wouldn’t be manipulated by his people, but he also wouldn’t let the Philistines believe their false god was greater than the true God. God made that happen by having the idol of Dagon fall at the feet of the Ark.
Application- God has such care and concern for my heart. He won’t let me manipulate him but he also won’t let me think another idol or god is greater than he is. He continues to demonstrate his greatness to me as he shows again and again that he is the true God and the only one I need.
Prayer- Father, thank you for being second to none. You are first and foremost, above all, and in control of all. As I struggle in this life to keep you there, continue to patiently work on me. Thank you for forgiving me. Be number one in my life today.
