September 30, 2021 | I Kings 20

Read 1 Kings 20

Scripture- 1 Kings 20:13- Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and announced, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

Observation- The Lord was going to win the battle for King Ahab, but it wasn’t because King Ahab deserved it. Rather, the Lord was going to win the battle so that Ahab would know that he was the Lord. The Lord won it, but Ahab continued to live without recognizing the Lord

Application- The Lord continues to win battles in my life every day. He does so that I may know he is the Lord. Yet, how often do I fail to recognize the Lord’s victories? How often do I fail to give Him glory and thanks for what he’s done? Praise God that he continues to win the battles in my life and has ultimately won the war against sin, death, and the devil. I know without a doubt that the Lord is the Lord when I look at the cross and the empty tomb. He alone is the Lord. I need him every day of my life and I will recognize him, praise him, and thank him every day.

Prayer- Father, thank you for your amazing love and grace. Thank you for battling for me every day. Help me to recognize you in my life, trust you, and grow in your love. Let me give you thanks and praise today for everything you do for me. Amen.
