Read Luke 20

Luke 20:25-  He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

Observation- The people were trying to trick Jesus into angering the people or the Roman government. But Jesus saw right through their tricks and said, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

Application- What does it mean to give to God what is God’s? I understand paying taxes to the government, but what do I give to God? What belongs to him? The answer is more than just money. My life, my heart, my soul, my brain, all of me belongs to the Lord. He has redeemed me and made me his own. He put his name on me at my baptism. I belong to him. So today, I’ll give myself in joyful service to him for I am his.

Prayer- Father, thank you for redeeming me and making me your own. Let me use my mind, body, and soul for you today. Amen.
