Scripture- Acts 3:19-20- Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.

Observation- Once again Peter finds himself in front of a large crowd. He again takes the opportunity to explain the events that have happened, preach about the death and resurrection of Jesus, and encourage the people to turn to the Lord so that their sins are washed away and times of refreshing may come. What a refreshing message to weary souls!

Application-  The message of repentance and turning to the Lord to have my sins wiped away is a message that never gets old. I need that message every day because every day my sins weigh me down. They dehydrate my soul and I’m left thirsting for something to make me feel better. The wonderful message of turning to my God to have my sins wiped away through Jesus is that refreshing drink that my soul needs. It’s a message that refreshes my weary soul. It is a message that never gets old. 

Prayer- Father, thank you for this refreshing message that you give to me every day. Each day I am able to open up your Word and drink in that message of forgiveness. It satisfies my weary soul. Help me to never look at this message as old news, but let me see it as a vital message that I need every day. Amen.
