January 25, 2022 | Acts 22
Read Acts 22
Scripture- Acts 22:16- And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’
Observation- Paul had been persecuting the Christian Church, but then God appeared to him and changed his heart. Ananias told him to be baptized and wash his sins away. Baptism isn’t just a mere outward symbol, but it actually washed sins away as it connected Paul to Jesus.
Application- What a blessing to remember what God did for me at my baptism. Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead to take away all of my sins. In baptism, God connects me personally to my Savior Jesus. At that moment, I wasn’t giving my life to Christ, but at that moment God washed my sins away connecting Jesus’ work to me personally. As I fall into sin today, what a blessing it is to look back on my baptism and know that at that moment God washed me clean.
Prayer- Father, thank you for Jesus’ saving work through his life, death, and resurrection. Thank you for applying all of that to me personally in my baptism. There you have washed me clean of all my sins. Let me live in that baptismal grace today. Amen.
