January 31, 2022 | Acts 26

Read Acts 26

Scripture- Acts 26:20- First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.

Observation- Paul’s message was for people to repent and turn to God for forgiveness. Then demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. In other words, live out their faith in Jesus as their Savior and not continue in their sin.

Application- Repentance is a change of mind. It’s the picture of me going one way, I stop, turn around, and head in the other direction. This is the process of repentance. I stop sinning, I ask God to forgive me, I trust that Jesus forgives my sins, and then I walk the other way living for him. Repentance isn’t just saying I’m sorry but it’s a change of mind and life all centered on Jesus’ love and forgiveness. I want to demonstrate that repentance in my life today.

Prayer- Father, thank you for your love and forgiveness through Jesus. Send your Spirit into my heart today to help me live a life of repentance as I show the deeds of that repentance. Amen.
