Read Acts 27
Scripture- Acts 27:20- When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.
Observation- There was a feeling of hopelessness on the ship. The sun nor the stars could be seen for many days, and there seemed to be no end of the storm in sight. Death seemed to be all but certain. Then in the middle of the night, God appeared to Paul to tell him that everything was going to be okay. Every single person on the ship would survive. With God, they weren’t hopeless.
Application- There are so many situations in life where it seems hopeless. With God in control, no situation is ever truly hopeless. I always have hope because the Lord is on his throne ruling all things. That doesn’t mean every situation will turn out the way I want. It also doesn’t mean that I will be saved from every situation. However, I have hope because even if I die, my God has conquered the grave for me. With him on the throne, I have hope.
Prayer- Father, thank you for being on the throne ruling all things. Nothing is out of your control. That fact gives me hope today even in seemingly hopeless situations. Fill me with confidence and hope today no matter what. Amen.
