Read Colossians 4

Scripture- Colossians 4:3-4And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.

Observation- Paul was the greatest missionary of all time. Yet, he needed God to open the door for his message to have any success. He also needed people to pray for him that he’d have the courage to preach the gospel clearly as he should.

Application- I need both of these things. I need God to open a door for my preaching and teaching to find any outward success. It’s all dependent on him. I also need others to keep me in their prayers that I may proclaim the gospel clearly and unashamed as I should. Both of these facts keep me humble and honest as I preach God’s Word. It’s not me; it’s all God.

Prayer- Father, open the door for your message to be received. Give me the courage to speak the gospel when I have the opportunity. Forgive me when I take credit away from you and place it on my own wisdom or ability to speak. Only you have the power to open doors for the gospel. Thank you for letting me come along and join in all the fun. Amen.
