Dear Church Family,
We live in a DIY kind of world, don’t we? Do It Yourself. Pinterest has all kinds of DIY decorating projects. YouTube can show you videos that teach you how to do fix just about anything on your own. There’s a channel on cable called the DIY network that has do-it-yourself programming about everything from gardening to home remodeling.
A man named Nehemiah, however, lived the truth that DIY doesn’t work when it comes to anything that has a spiritual component to it. We need God. Through Nehemiah’s leadership, we see God rebuilding life for his people in ways that only God could make happen.
In this summer series based on the Old Testament book that bears Nehemiah’s name, we’ll share the importance of leadership, prayer, courage, humility, and hard work in repairing and rebuilding the “broken walls” in our homes, in our relationships with our neighbors, in our community, and in our world…with God’s help.
So please join me this Sunday as we begin studying the practical book of Nehemiah and talk about how it applies to our lives. Join me for worship in English at 9:30 AM or Spanish at 11:30 AM.

Starting Point Class: This 7 lesson class that I will lead prepares you to receive the sacrament of holy communion at our church by studying the foundational teachings of the Christian faith.
It’s the starting point for anyone who would like to learn more about God, anyone who wants to see for themselves what the Bible says, or anyone who would like to pursue becoming a member of Divine Savior Church. No previous Bible knowledge needed. Email me to register or if you have any questions.
