Last Sunday I asked the question, What breaks your heart? For Nehemiah it was the broken down walls of Jerusalem. Even more it was the broken down spiritual condition of the people. So what did Nehemiah do? He didn’t panic. He didn’t point fingers. He prayed. He asked God for an opportunity. And then he waited…
This Sunday we’ll see what that opportunity that he was waiting for was and we’ll start talking about how we too can make sure that our vision of what could and should be is really God’s vision. We’ll also learn how waiting time isn’t always time wasted. Join me this Sunday as we study Nehemiah chapter 2 and how it applies to our lives. Worship in English is at 9:30 AM. Spanish is at 11:30 AM. All are invited!

Miami Rescue Mission Service Opportunity – Our “Rooted” group will be volunteering tomorrow June 9 at the Miami Rescue Mission. Rooted is our 20s and 30s group. See the picture above for details. Contact Melanie with any questions. This is a great opportunity to put the love of Jesus into action in our local community! Also note, water donations are being collected in any office of the campus or dropped off on Sat morning before 10:00 AM.
Starting Point Class (still time to jump in!): On Monday I began this 7 lesson class that prepares you to receive the sacrament of holy communion at our church by studying the foundational teachings of the Christian faith.
It’s the starting point for anyone who would like to learn more about God, anyone who wants to see for themselves what the Bible says, or anyone who would like to pursue becoming a member of Divine Savior Church. No previous Bible knowledge needed. Email me if you have any questions. If you missed this past Monday but want to jump in with the rest of the lessons please let me know.

StrengthsFinder Training – This week all of Divine Savior Church here in South Florida (Doral Campus, Delray Beach Campus, West Palm Beach Campus) met together for a day of StrengthsFinder training with the Ministry Leadership Institute. We learned to identify and appreciate the strengths God has uniquely given to each of us and we began discussing ways we can partner up with the strengths of others as we serve together in the church. I feel so blessed to be part of this ministry team here and am excited about what God has in store for us working together!
Academia Cristo – This week here in Doral we hosted the annual face-to-face meeting of the WELS Latin America mission team so I got to learn about the amazing way that Academia Cristo is using technology and social media to teach God’s Word in order to multiply disciples. This is a pioneering project that God is blessing in incredible ways and needs our continued prayers. We will have more opportunities soon to learn about how Divine Savior can partner with Academia Cristo to help share Jesus with more people.
