My church. Your church. Our church.

Dear Church Family,

“I want to introduce you to my friend. I’m so happy she could come to our church today!”

My. Our. Those are powerful pronouns, aren’t they?

In the church, everyone has a part to play because God himself has given each of us gifts to serve. As a church family we share the joy of working hard together to carry out the mission of the church using our energy, time, talents. In this way, lives are changed!

Divine Savior is our church. We hope it might also become your church too so that your friends and neighbors who don’t know Jesus as their Savior might also one day say, “This is my church.” We are better together!

Join me for worship this Sunday at 9:30am as we continue taking a look under the hood with our core value: We want everyone taking ownership.

ICYMI – Watch my message from last Sunday: We Take God’s Truth Seriously.

DSYouth  – Friday, Nov. 2, 6-8:30pm. All middle and high school age students invited. Meet in church. Free! Questions? Contact Dr. Erik Landwehr.

DSKids – We are excited for the future of DSKids. This Fall we will be working with the children on their Christmas song to sing for the Christmas Eve Service and partnering with DSYouth to prepare for a fun & meaningful Christmas for Kids. We will take this time as well to explore what other ways we could design our Sunday DSKids program to make it the best fit for our ministry here in Doral and the families we serve. We ask for your prayers as this work continues that DSKids would be a blessing both to your own family, as well as those families we reach out to in our community. Got questions, thoughts, and tremendous ideas? Please share them with Janette, our new DSKids Director!

6th Graders Singing – This Sunday we welcome the 6th graders from DSA to sing “His Mercy Is More” at church. I love it when school families join us for worship!

Lead Academy Pastor – Last night the church council met to issue a divine call for the position of lead academy pastor. We are excited for this person to minister to the students and families of DSA and help be a bridge between the academy and our church. We will share more info publicly after this weekend.

Bible Story Book List – In my sermon from this past Sunday I shared that I posted a list of Bible story books for families to use on the church blog. Here’s a link.

Saturday Evening Church Set-Up Team. 17 people have already expressed a willingness to help. Could you join them? I’m looking for 24-30 people to serve on a team of 6 on a rotating basis. Kids are welcome to help out too. Some work needs muscles. Other tasks like stuffing connections cards just take a little time. There’s something for everyone. Please let me know if you are willing to serve in this way and I will send out a schedule soon.

Starting Point Class – Anyone else? 7 people joined me this past week for the start of our new Starting Point! It’s a great group, but there’s still room for a couple more. 7:00-8:30 PM. Childcare is available as needed. Let me know if you want to come.

Baptism Class – Find out what the Bible teaches about Baptism! Come to an information class on Nov. 11th following our regular church service. Childcare provided as needed. Register for the class online here. Pick up an invite card from the info table and share it with a friend!

Baptism Sunday – Have you seen and shared our video yet? We will have a bilingual service on Sunday, Nov. 18th at 10:30am in the high school gymnasium. Immediately after, we will celebrate our thanks to God with a lunch and time to connect with one another as a family. We want to welcome any new visitors and celebrate with any who are newly baptized. Our Fellowship Team has some fun activities planned as well! We are asking all of our members to bring some food to share. The theme of our meal is “Thanksgiving.” Please click here for more details and to bring food.

Date Night – Saturday, Nov. 10th. 6pm. Join us for an evening of fun and opportunity to connect with your spouse and other couples! Our DSC Marriage Ministry Team is hosting a Dinner and a Movie Date Night. See all the details and make your reservations. Please register as soon as possible. Deadline is Nov. 7th.

Women’s Ministry: Advent by Candlelight – Monday, December 3rd 7pm in the middle school gym. Meditate on the true meaning of the upcoming Christmas season as you gather together with other women and enjoy this uplifting and renewing event. More information on how you can be personally involved to support this part of our ministry will be coming via email soon!

Online Giving – If you haven’t already set up electronic giving via ACH, we now have another way to give online through BluePay whether via credit card or checking. One-time or recurring gifts can be set up. Simply visit our website and then click on “Give” in the upper right hand corner. Thanks for giving regularly to help us as we plan and carry out our mission of changing lives with Jesus!
