Bring Your “If Onlys” to the I AM

Dear Church Family,

If only…

How much hurt, how much pain, how much frustration and anger is contained in these two words… if only?

If only I had died instead of you– O Absalom, my son, my son!” (2 Samuel 18:33)

If only my anguish could be weighed and all my misery be placed on the scales!” (Job 6:2)

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.” (1 Corinthians 15:19)

This Sunday we’ll meet two sisters who felt it also when their brother Lazarus died. “Lord, if only you had been there…”

Do you have any if onlys?

This Sunday I want to encourage you to bring them with you to church. Bring your hurt. Bring your pain. Bring your tears. It’s ok. Really. It’s ok. You can bring your if only’s to the great I AM—to the One who says, “I am the resurrection and the life!” and who has the power to back it up. See you this Sunday at 9:30 am. I can’t wait to share what is going to be an uplifting message about Jesus with you!
