Pastor Carl and Connie Say Thank You

Dear Members and Friends of Divine Savior,

Connie and I would like to thank the congregation for your retirement gift of a cruise to the Greek Isles.  We had a wonderful, memorable time.  God blessed us with great weather and smooth sailing. 

We arrived at the Rome airport on Tuesday, May 7^th.   The next day we took the bus to Civitavecchia, the port city of Rome, and boarded the Norwegian Spirit.  After a day at sea, we visited our first island, Santorini and saw the iconic sights.

The following day, Saturday, we arrived in Piraeus, the port city of Athens. We had a wonderful tour of the city culminating in a visit to the Acropolis and the Temple of Athena – truly historic.

Sunday we toured the Greek Island of Mykonos and learned a lot of their history and culture.  The tour ended with a visit to the principal Greek Orthodox Temple were service was concluding.

Monday, the ship docked in Chania on the island of Crete, part of Greece – a day in which we did not have a tour programmed.

Tuesday, the ship docked in Valletta, the port city of Malta.  Without a doubt, this was the most picturesque stop.  We had a guided tour of the entire island.

Wednesday was a walking tour of Messina, in Sicily, Italy that ended with a snack of cannoli.

Thursday we saw the whole city of Naples with a Hop On – Hop Off bus tour. 

Friday was another Hop On – Hop Off bus tour of Livorno, the port city of Florence.

Saturday the ship returned to Rome.  The next day we caught the Alitalia flight back to Miami.
