Dear Church Family,
Do you know how to pray? Does talking with God come easy to you? What do you tell Him? Not everyone feels that they know how to pray. Even Jesus’ first followers didn’t. So they asked Him how to pray… and He gave them a template for prayer that works as well today as it did back then. We’ve called it the Lord’s Prayer. It teaches us how to pray to our Heavenly Father.
Join me at church either Saturday evening at 5:00 pm or Sunday morning at 9:30 am for the start of this message series on prayer! All are welcome.

A Team on Which to Serve – Please take 5 minutes to fill out this serve form if you haven’t yet. This Fall we want to help all of you find a place in our church where you can serve using your time and talents. With the addition of a Saturday evening service and a growing number of guests it’s more important that we have teams of people willing and equipped to serve. So far we’re up to 66 people who have filled out the form, thank you! We’ll be following up with you as best we can over the next couple weeks.
A Group in Which to Grow– This Wednesday afternoon I had the privilege of presenting a Spiritual Growth Plan to over 100 teachers and staff of Divine Savior Academy. This plan is also for all of you in our Divine Savior Church family. There are 11 different groups or classes for you to choose from for this upcoming Fall season of spiritual growth. I will share more details this weekend after worship. In the meantime, go ahead and visit this page on our website from which you can scroll down to 1) View List of Classes and Connect Groups and 2) Sign Up for Your Class or Connect Group for this Fall season. Take special note of the classes that will be taught Sunday mornings after worship from 11:00 am-Noon starting next Sunday, September 15 by Mr. Jason Schultz and Pastor Caleb Davisson.
DSYouth – ALL students in the middle or high school level (beginning with grade 6 through 12th grade) are invited! Our first event is for students AND PARENTS on Friday, September 6 at 7:00 pm. Please REGISTER HERE before the event! Questions? Contact Dr. Erik Landwehr.
Saturday Worship Starts This Weekend! Every Saturday during the school year at 5:00 pm starting this Saturday, September 7.
Donate Blood This Sunday – OneBlood will be here with their big red bus parked in front of church next Sunday, September 8 from 8:30 am-1:30 pm. All donors will receive a FREE OneBlood Cancer Awareness T-Shirt and a wellness checkup including blood pressure and cholesterol screening. ID required. Wants be at least 16 years old.
Baptism – Our first class is offered THIS SUNDAY after the worship service. The class is free and so is baptism! Click HERE to choose which class you’d like to attend. Learn what blessings come from baptism and why it is important. Understand what the Bible says about it. Ask questions and find out answers, with no obligation.
Help the Bahamas – The City of Doral Mayor and Common Council ask for your help in donating much needed items for the residents of the Bahamas whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Dorian. Visit any of the City of Doral social media pages for more info on what items are needed and where to drop them off. Divine Savior Academy is also participating in this effort. School parents will be receiving info on specific items and where to drop them off on campus.
Teen Confirmation Class: Any young person who will be in seventh grade this year and is NOT enrolled in Divine Savior Academy, is invited to take Confirmation Class on Mondays from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm from September 9. The course lasts two years and in the end they receive their first communion and are confirmed. Registration or questions: steve.mueller@divinesaviorchurch.com
All Pro Dad’s Day – Fall Kickoff: Team up with other dads and kids for a free breakfast once a month before school from 7 – 8 am in the high school commons. Our first event of the year will be held Thursday, September 19. Who is it for? Any dads and their kids ages K-6th grade. We had a great turnout last year and hope even more will join us this year! New Starting Point Class – Begins October 1: Learn more about Christ’s love for you. Study the foundational teachings of the Christian faith using the Bible as our sourcebook. It’s the starting point for anyone who would like to learn more about God, find out what the Bible says, or pursue becoming a member of Divine Savior Church. Complementary childcare provided!
