Dear Church Family,
God’s will is that people of all nations know him as their loving Lord and Savior and come to worship him. His will is that we live the kind of lives that honor him. Our wills by nature are so often different however. We so often want other things. And so… before we get to that part of the Lord’s prayer where we are asking him to bless us and give us things… we want to worship him and yield ourselves to his will… being willing to have his will be done ahead of ours!

New Starting Point Class – Begins October 1: Learn more about Christ’s love for you. Study the foundational teachings of the Christian faith using the Bible as our sourcebook. It’s the starting point for anyone who would like to learn more about God, find out what the Bible says, or pursue becoming a member of Divine Savior Church. Complementary childcare provided! (Tuesday evenings only) Click HERE to register. Classes are on Tuesday evening for 9 weeks from 7:00-8:30 pm starting Oct 1. Classes will also be taught the following Sundays after church at 11:00 am so that you can mix and match according to your schedule.
Movie Night – Bring your friends and familyFriday, Oct 4 to see the movie, “I Can Only Imagine.” We’ll have a special guest appearance at our event by one of the cast members of the movie! Tickets are $3 each or two for $5. Refreshments will be available for purchase at a modest price. All proceeds will go to support our DSC Scholarship Fund for students who choose to prepare for the public ministry at MLC. Children under 10 will have a special activity with DSKids. Pastors’ Conference – This week we got to travel up the coast to Redeemer Lutheran Church of Merritt Island, FL where we gathered with around 40 pastors from WELS churches across Florida. One of the coolest things was just learning how in the 1960s when NASA was planning to send a man to the moon from Cape Canaveral…the WELS decided to launch a church nearby to proclaim Christ. Our conference presenter was Dr. Wade Johnston from Wisconsin Lutheran College presenting on “Lutheranism’s First Identity Crisis.” I led the closing devotion on what “faithfulness” in ministry meant for the Apostle Paul and what it means for Lutheran pastors today. Pastor Steve played guitar for our worship service and Pastor Caleb played piano for our devotions.
Divine Savior Ministries – As the Coordinating Pastor for Divine Savior Church one of the privileges and responsibilities that I have is to serve on the Governing Board for Divine Savior Ministries—the parent organization of DSC and DSA across our five campuses.
