Dear Church Family,
I would imagine that we have all experienced situations that are scary. Probably we’ve even experienced facing adversaries that downright terrify us. Maybe that person who intimidates you. Maybe the one who pushes your buttons to make you lose your temper. Or the one that always has a way of dragging you down the wrong path. Sometimes the obstacle in front of us is just a situation that seems insurmountable.
This weekend at church we will see what Jesus reveals when He goes up against an adversary bigger than all of them. And we’ll come away just like the people who saw and heart it first… Amazed!
Please join me for week two of our new series called The Big Reveal. This weekend we’ll be welcoming Missionary Andrew Johnston as our guest preacher.
Saturday at 5:00 pm
Sunday at 9:30 am
ICYMI: If you’ve ever struggled with God’s timing in your life, watch Pastor Caleb’s terrific message from this past weekend as we kicked off week one of The Big Reveal.
Open Forum: On Sunday, Jan 26 at 1:30 pm after the Spanish service we will be having a church open forum in the auditorium where we will present a Worship / Arts Center update and discuss options for moving our ministry forward. If you call Divine Savior Church your home, we hope you are able to attend this important open forum.
Spiritual Growth Opportunities: Stay tuned next week for a new menu of opportunities to grow spiritually this winter season through Connect Groups and Bible Classes. A Connect Group is a small group gathering of around 8-10 people that provides a safe place to connect with others, share life, and grow in faith together. A Bible Class a small or large group gathering designed to be more of an academic setting in order to deepen knowledge in the Bible or another relevant topic.
DSYouth: All students in 6-12 grade are invited to join us for DSYouth today (Friday, Jan 17) from 6:00 – 8:30 pm at church. If you have not yet registered, please CLICK HERE to fill out the parental consent and student registration form. Questions? Contact Erik Landwehr.
DSKids: All children 3 years old to 3rd grade are invited to join us This Sunday for a special Skit & Song Sunday where your child will enjoy being a part of a special skit about “Noah and the Flood”. We will have a great time, while learning truths about the gospel message. It will also kick off our upcoming month of February where your child will enjoy several lessons about Noah and the ark. Most children know the story, but we’ll dig deeper and grow their confidence in what they believe, what the Bible says and how they can defend their faith and share this Gospel message with those they know.
Church Family Picnic and DSC Amazing Race: A big thank you to our Fellowship Team and their leaders, the Hoppes and the Pachecos for organizing our Church Family Picnic and DSC Amazing Race! It was a great time getting to know others better and an afternoon full of laughs! Thanks to everyone who attended and participated! What a blessing to grow together as a Christian family! Here’s a recap.
Starting Point Class: Is the first step for anyone who would like to learn more about God, find out what the Bible says, or pursue becoming a member of Divine Savior Church. I would like to start a new Starting Point class on Tuesday evenings beginning Mar 3. If you’re interested in participating in the upcoming March class, or if you have any questions, please send me a quick email.
DSC Welcome Mugs: We want visitors to feel welcome into our church family! One of the ways we can do that is by pastor personally greeting each of the 1st time visitors at worship and offering them a gift. You can help! Be part of our Buy one, GIVE one program! For $7 you will receive your own DSC mug and allow us to give one to a visitor. We hope you enjoy your mug and the opportunity to welcome others! Click here to participate!
