Dear Church Family,
Think you can’t get hooked? David did. And he was a called worker. David was anointed by God to serve as king of Israel. His role as king was to prefigure for God’s people what one day King Messiah would do and how He would act. No pressure there, right?
But even King David, known as “a man after the Lord’s own heart” got hooked by Satan’s lures. So let’s keep it real. Nobody is strong enough on their own to go through life without ever being hooked by temptation. The question is when we do get hooked, how do we respond? Are we quick to confess or do we scheme to keep quiet hoping no one comes along to call us out?
There is a lure to wanting to keep quiet. But this lure can be especially dangerous. Because when we do keep quiet, sin’s detrimental consequence tends to have a snowball effect. The impact on us can be all-encompassing: spiritually, emotionally, even physically.
That’s why I want to invite you to join me for worship this weekend where Jesus will help us get unhooked from this lure. Come discover the life-giving blessing of confession and the beautiful absolution we hear when we do.
In our current series Unhooked we are learning what the Bible has to say about the lures that pull us away from Jesus and the price he was willing to pay to get us back. Click here to watch the promo video. Share on social media or via a link in an email or text to invite your friends to join us!

Open Forum Wrap-Up: Thank you to all who attended last Sunday. In both the English and Spanish forums there is a growing excitement about the opportunity before us to potentially build a worship and ministry center soon. Of special note I think was the positive feedback we received at both forums about the proposed addition of a small chapel to be a beautiful, quiet place of prayer for all throughout the week. Stay tuned for next steps as we continue to shape the plans and work towards a decision. And thank you for your words of encouragement and prayers on this going forward. It does take extra time and energy to work through these conversations and details.

The “Test Me!” Challenge– Is Bible-based encouragement based on the teaching from our last message series to tithe (regularly give 10%) over the next couple weeks through Easter. Our weekly giving average over these next five weeks will help set the course for what ministry we as a church can plan to do in the next fiscal year so that we can see more lives changed with Jesus. If you’re giving online please note that you may need to first cancel your current regularly scheduled offering and then set up a new recurring gift. It’s easy to do using the “Give” tab in MyDSC. If you need help with that or have any questions please reach out to Alejandra our church office assistant.
