Regarding The Coronavirus

Dear Divine Savior Family,

At Divine Savior Church we want you to know we care deeply about those in our church family.

We Care About Your Spiritual Well-Being
Amidst the concerns over the recent virus outbreak, hear the words of Jesus “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) Despite concerns regarding the recent virus outbreak we take comfort knowing that Jesus has overcome this too. Jesus won the victory over sin, death, and the devil that first Easter. In doing so, he solved the greatest problem we will ever face. Because of that, we “say with confidence, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” (Hebrews 16:3)

Furthermore, we are committed to praying for the continued health and well-being of the Divine Savior family.

We Care About Your Physical Well-Being
Out of Christian love for all people, especially those who are most vulnerable to this virus, we will be taking the following steps at our church: In addition to the high standard of cleanliness maintained on our campus, we plan to take extra measures to sanitize frequently touched surfaces, provide hand sanitizer in highly trafficked areas, and limit physical contact in our assemblies as we greet one another.

Although we will still gather for worship on Sundays and Wednesdays, we have decided to cancel our Wednesday Lenten suppers due to the uncontrolled nature of food preparation and food handling.

Please note: we are not aware that anyone in our Divine Savior Family has the Coronavirus at this time. We simply want to exercise caution out of Christian love.

We Know You Care About Others Too
Please join us in praying for the well-being of our entire Divine Savior family. We also ask that you please be mindful of the guidance from the CDC, including:

  • Stay home when you or a family member is sick.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water and avoid touching your face.
  • Consider avoiding contact with people for 14 days if you have recently traveled to an area of the world where Coronavirus is prevalent.

If You Have To Stay Home
Take advantage of the opportunities to stay connected to the Divine Savior family. Please contact us if you or a family member contracts the virus so that we can serve and support you spiritually.

The uncertainty of this outbreak has created anxiety in our workplaces, schools, and day-to-day activities. Yet, we remain confident of God’s constant presence and careful attention to all that is happening. Psalm 16:8 says, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

Therefore, let us not fear, but with confidence use this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus through our prayers and our care for others.

Changing Lives with Jesus,
