Dear Church Family,
Once again it’s that time of year when we familiarize ourselves with the term “cone of uncertainty” and wonder what impact an approaching storm will have on us or others in its path. And so we watch carefully and take precautions. But as with all things in life we pray and put our trust in the Lord upon whose mercy we depend—not only when storms threaten but also when it comes to our health, strength, and daily bread.
Let’s just take a moment to do that right now…would you join me? “Dear Lord Jesus, ruler of wind and wave, and champion over sin and death, have mercy on us along the east coast of our country and all who are in danger of any kind. Give to us all the peace that you alone can give through faith in you as our Savior and Lord. Amen.”
Because of the added stormy weather this weekend I wouldn’t be surprised if many of you decided to worship from home this weekend. At the same time, at least right now on this Friday afternoon, it looks like God is going to spare us here in Doral specifically front the brunt of Isaias. And so I also would not be surprised if many of you who live close to campus were still bold to venture out and come to worship weather permitting.
Therefore as of this time on Friday afternoon, we are still planning to hold our regular worship services at our regular times of 5:00 pm on Saturday and 9:30 am on Sunday. We are also hoping to livestream both of those services at which we are installing our new teachers from Divine Savior Academy and The Divine Savior School.
We will continue to watch the path of Isaias closely and if we need to cancel the Saturday service, we will make that decision tomorrow and we will communicate tomorrow via email as well as post that update on our church’s social media accounts. God willing, we will be able to hold both our worship services and you can either choose to watch from the comfort of home or attend in person.
To attend in person this weekend whether on Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday at 9:30 am you need to register with this form. You can expect us to follow the things outlined in our Phase 1 Plan, and we kindly ask you to also follow those guidelines.

Equipping Christian Witnesses – is the name of a campaign to raise funds in support of our vital ministry partner, Martin Luther College (MLC). Watch the video I made for more info about this opportunity to give.
Online Hosts Needed – In the same way that a greeter provides a welcoming presence and creates a great first impression outside or inside the church’s physical location, an online host has the opportunity to do the same on the church’s digital location. What does an online host do? Using our church’s streaming platform, they welcome guests in our virtual lobby, help people feel comfortable, and build a sense of community online. Through interaction with visitors, an online host may even have opportunities to help people get connected to Jesus, the gospel, and the pastors of our church to help them along in their faith journey. Training and a handbook will be provided. Volunteers can even host remotely from the comfort of home! All that’s needed is a laptop computer or other convenient way to type while connected to the internet. We are hoping for 4-5 new volunteers to help us grow our online audience and increase engagement with guests in our digital location. Please contact Staff Minister Becky if interested.
Production TeamVolunteers Needed – Additional streaming technicians and camera operators are needed to help us support the production of our worship services. We hope to grow our team of multiple volunteers so that volunteers can be scheduled on a rotating basis and we can be sure to have enough people to cover all our weekend worship services, our academy chapel services, and any special services, concerts, or events that we may host this year to connect with people online. Training is provided. Please contact Scott Sievert if interested.
