Dear Church Family,
Human beings have a tendency to boast about and take credit for things that actually are blessings from God. Likewise Gideon and his army could have been tempted to take credit for the coming victory that God was about to give them in the book of Judges. So God took some things away to make sure they couldn’t boast. Sometimes God also takes things away from us so we can see our weakness in light of His strength, and to trust His strength instead of ours. Then we can live in confidence without boasting. Or as the Apostle Paul says, quoting Scripture: “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:31)!

Equipping Christian Witnesses – is the name of a campaign to raise funds in support of our vital ministry partner, Martin Luther College (MLC).
