Dear Church Family,
Why do they say those things? Why do they act like that? Why do they behave that way?
Maybe you’ve found yourself asking those kinds of questions lately. These questions reflects the reality that everyone has a worldview. We all have certain presuppositions and biases that affect the way we view life and reality. A worldview is like a set of lenses through which we perceive the world around us. Our worldview is formed by our education, upbringing, the culture we live in, the apps we use, the books we read, the media we absorb, and more. For many, their worldview is simply something absorbed from the influences around them. Most have never thought about what they believe and wouldn’t be able to give an answer for their beliefs to others.
Christians, however, are commanded to give an explanation for the hope they have in Christ…and to do it a gentle and a respectful way (1 Peter 3:15). In our new series, “Soul Searching,” we’ll be tackling the topic of worldview by seeing how the opening chapters of Genesis provide us with a reliable worldview that answers the biggest questions all people have.
