God Knows What’s Good For Us

Dear Church Family,

Is love the answer? That sounds good to many. But who determines what’s considered loving? Who says what’s right and wrong? Is morality subjective or objective? What is good? Bad? Thankfully we don’t have to guess. The answers are found in God’s Word in the Bible which clears away so much confusion in the world and reveals what love is supposed to look like from the perspective of a good God who knows what’s best for his people.

Please join me this weekend as we explore the next question in our Soul Searching series related to the topic of Morality – What Is Good? To join me in person this weekend whether on Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday at 9:30 am please register with this form ahead of time. To worship online with others simply click here to visit our livestreaming platform either on Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday at 9:30 am.

DSC on YouTube: Watch past messages, worship services on-demand, and other Christ-centered content on our church YouTube channel. To watch DSA chapel services visit our chapel YouTube channel.

ICYMI: Watch my message, part two of Soul Searching: Meaning – Why Am I Here?

DSKids: We invite all children ages 3 to 3rd grade to join us this Sunday for our in-person DSKids Sunday morning program. We will be focusing on the Fall into Sin, but also the Promise of a Savior, based off the Sermon series for this Sunday. Simply stop by our DSKids table outside the church doors on your way into worship and we’ll get your child checked in and ready to join us. See you Sunday!

Acolyte Training: If your son or daughter is in the 4th or 5th grade this year, we’d love to have you stay after church next Sunday, January 31st for just a short little training.  We are excited to give your child a special new role in the church and a fun way to serve, as an Acolyte. We would also like them to feel confident in serving this way, therefore next Sunday, we’ll talk and walk through what an Acolyte does and give them an opportunity to practice. Simply come with your child to the front of the church after the service next Sunday.

Through the Bible in 2021 – Click here to find a personal invitation to join me in reading through the Bible on the Bible app by YouVersion. The plan began on January 6 but you can still jump in midstream with us! So far 65 people have joined the group.

Marriage Moments are short, weekly videos highlighting one Biblical marriage thought accompanied by a discussion question. Click here to watch this week’s episode – Brought By God. Produced by our national church body, the WELS.

Giving: To give electronically simply click this link to go to our secure giving page. If you’re a regular electronic giver, please remember to switch over your gifts to our new Pushpay service provider using the above link by February 1st. Please note, if you were giving weekly last year but switched to giving monthly this year, you may want to consider that some months in the year have 5 weeks instead of 4. The result is that if not taken into account, about one month’s worth of giving would be inadvertently lost over the course of a year. Please also note that you can conveniently use online giving to give a one-time gift in addition to regular giving during special services throughout the year or if God gives you an unexpected blessing.

Church Offerings Update: Last week: $10,323.57 | YTD per week: $8,827.16 | Needed weekly to meet FY ’20-’21 budget: $9,106.96 | FYI – 2021 boxes of offering envelopes will be available on the info table at church for you to pick up if that’s your preferred way of giving.
