Dear Church Family,
As the heartbreaking tragedy at Surfside continues to unfold, as we watch the developing path of Hurricane Elsa, as public officials sound the alarm over the Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus… yet we are going to take comfort this 4th of July weekend in Christmas. That’s right. Christmas. Christmas in July!
Why? A couple reasons. First because this weekend as we continue our series on The Apostles’ Creed we’ll be looking at the truth behind the words, “conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary.” Second, because the miraculous truth of Christmas is that God is with us! And as our Savior God, Jesus takes the initiative to love us and to rescue us and to remove our fears now and forevermore. To this day as we gather for worship he still draws close to us through his holy word. He still shines the light of God’s love into our world’s darkness. He calls us as his followers to do the same.
So please join me this weekend as we celebrate Christmas in July and celebrate the 2nd article truth of Christ’s incarnation. Our God is with us…even in the middle of summer! Worship in-person or online Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday morning at 9:30 am.
