Dear Church Family,
It’s our ultimate goal and hope as Christians. We believe in “the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.” What’s so wonderful about this hope is that even in the face of daily reminders of all that’s broken on this earth, even in the face of death itself we can look forward to the reversal of sin’s consequences when our soul is reunited with our body that is raised and glorified to live with God forever in heaven!
No more weak, sick, aging, hurting or dying bodies. No more need for medicine, masks, vaccines, quarantines, or distancing. Rather, each of our bodies will be raised and transformed to be like Christ’s glorified body—made perfect the way it was always meant to be apart from sin. Our eternal existence, therefore, will be a glorious, physical one that is so joyful it stretches the imagination!
Until then, as Christians, we live with this sure and certain hope. Thus when a fellow believer in the Lord Jesus dies, we don’t have to grieve their death as if we were people who have no hope. We still grieve, but as those who embrace the promise of our risen Savior who says, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” (John 11:25).

Kuerth Family Update – We’ve all been sick the last ten plus days. We’ve been taking it one day at a time here at home. With the Lord’s help we’re feeling better each day. We look forward to seeing our church family again soon. I also look forward to being able to taste coffee again hopefully soon! We are grateful for all your prayers, encouragement, and support. Special thanks to Pastor Steve for stepping in for me so I can get completely healthy and regain energy. I am grateful to have such wonderful ministry teammates in the Lord!

DSC Family Soccer Day: Join us on the DSA athletic field for an afternoon of fun this Sunday, August 29! Come hang out. Come and play! Come enjoy some time with your DSC family. We will begin shortly after the Spanish worship service – about 1:00 pm. All ages can participate and little ones can be on the playground. Bring some snacks to share -we’ll have water bottles. DSYouth Kickoff: On Friday, September 3, from 6:00-8:30 pm, all students in middle or high school (beginning with grade 6 through 12th grade) are welcome to join us for DSYouth! Enjoy fun games and make a few new friends. We’ll have a short devotion, look at the schedule for the year, followed by food! Parents, if your child has participated in the past, no forms are needed. Welcome Back Weekend: Summer is over and kids are back in school. As we all settle into our normal routines again, our Divine Savior family wants to welcome you back to church too! Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve attended in person. We miss you! Maybe you can think of someone in your life who’s never joined us for worship. Invite them to come with you! Teen Confirmation: Students in 7th or 8th grade who would like to become confirmed members of our church family can apply to be part of the Teen Confirmation Program at Divine Savior Church.
