Dear Church Family,
This weekend we welcome you back to church as we begin a new series called Battle For Our Hearts. Why? Because we live in a world where there are all kinds of false gods battling for the place of honor and control in our lives.
It is hard to pursue God as he intended when our hearts are pursuing something or someone else. Behind the sin you struggle with, the discouragement you deal with, and the lack of purpose you live with, there is a false god winning the battle for your heart.
Idolatry isn’t an issue. It is the issue.

Which idols are you allowing to sit on the throne of your life? For what do you sacrifice? What makes you angry? What do you worry about? For whose praise do you long?
In our series starting this weekend we’re going to see from the Bible how God pursues us with His love and fights for us. So let’s explore how God can help us defeat the idols that want His place in our hearts.

Welcome Back Weekend: We hope you are getting as excited as we are about this weekend! As a church family we have an opportunity to gather together for a wonderful worship service as we kick off a new sermon series AND enjoy time to connect with one another and our guests outside afterwards! Here are three ways you can choose to be personally involved: 1) Invite someone to attend with you! 2) Pray for the Lord’s blessings on our weekend! 3) Choose some items from the NEEDS REQUEST. (Items are listed according to service.) All worship service times are as regularly scheduled: Saturday at 5:00 pm; Sunday at 9:30 am and Sunday at 11:30 am in Spanish. May God bless our efforts to connect more people to the love of Jesus and our church family this weekend!

All Pro Dad’s Day is Back! Team up with other dads and kids at our school once a month before school starts from 7:00-8:00 AM in our High School Commons. All Pro Dad’s Day is a monthly gathering that Pastor Ben leads where dads get to intentionally engage with their kids. A free breakfast is provided and there will be a character based-curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids. Who is it for? Any dads and their kids ages K-5th grade. Faith5: Are you looking for a better way to connect within your family? Deepen your understanding of each other. Improve the mental and spiritual health of your children and yourselves as parents. Discover FAITH5 and take an opportunity to grow together in faith – as a family! If you haven’t participated in this yet, join our fall session! We invite both parents to attend, along with other parents who will meet together to learn a powerful framework that is simple and easy to implement. This can benefit your family with kids of any age! We think it’s so important that we have implemented it as part of our discipleship path and pray that every family takes the opportunity to experience it! Sessions begin the week of Sept 19th. Teen Confirmation: It’s not too late! Students in 7th or 8th grade who would like to become confirmed members of our church family can apply to be part of the Teen Confirmation Program at Divine Savior Church.
