Dear Church Family,
It is easy in this world to think that “living our best life” means binging on all the things that bring us temporary pleasure. Didn’t the year of shut-down show us how powerfully addicting binging on Netflix, snack foods, and alcohol can be? We were made to worship God, but we often end up spending lots of time at the “altar of pleasure” worshiping gods of food, sex, and entertainment.
These false gods, which wield a very powerful mental, physical, and emotional lure, keep us from the real relationship with Jesus that we need when they become more important to us than Him. That’s why this weekend we will again look to God’s Word to see how it can defeat these idols from taking God’s place in our hearts.
Worship Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday morning at 9:30 am. Bring a friend!

WELS New Hymnal Concert: After years of hard work, a new hymnal of “Christian Worship” along with a suite of liturgical worship resources for churches and schools is here. A special concert video has been produced by the synod to celebrate and share the resources both old and new. Here is a link to the one-hour concert featuring a variety of choirs and instrumentalists. Many hymns in the new hymnal we have already been using at our church here in Doral for a while now such as “Across the Lands”, “Still, My Soul, Be Still”, and “Jesus Paid It All.” The resources produced with the new hymnal will be a blessing to our church and academy worship life. We want to continue using all God’s best gifts old and new in connecting the people of our community to Christ and lifelong engagement with God’s Word in the Church.
