To Love and Be Loved

Dear Church Family,

Would you do anything for love? (Cue the 1993 song by the singer Meatloaf!)

“Falling in love” can a beautiful thing, right? After all, “God is love”, the Bible says (1 John 3:8). But even love can become an idol that keeps us from thinking straight and putting God first. We can end up making sacrifices at the “altar of love” worshiping gods of romance, family, children, or our own ego. These things can all be good gifts and blessings from our gracious God—some of the very best! But they can also step out of order in our hearts and become more important to us than the love we have for the God who made and redeemed us. No idol will ever be able to meet or satisfy our deepest longings to love and be loved. Only God can.

That’s why this weekend we will look at God’s Word today to see how God’s love alone can truly fill all the empty spaces in our hearts. Worship Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday morning at 9:30 am. Bring a friend!

Serve to Support our Worship Service! Did you know that it takes 10 volunteers to fill all of the necessary positions for each worship service? We have 3 worship services each weekend. An additional 4 are needed to prepare the space and get it ready each weekend and 2 more for offering refreshments/hospitality after the service. That’s a total of 30 to 36 people each weekend. We thank God for those already serving in these positions, but what a blessing it would be to have more people willing to serve on every team! (Usher, Greeter,  Tech, Hospitality, Music, and Set Up team.) How can YOU help? Please click here and take a moment to consider where you might be able to use your gifts for the weekend worship services or other areas of our church ministry. Please also encourage your family members to do the same! You will be blessed by the experience and together, we can do more! If you have any questions, please contact Staff Minister Becky.
