Pursuing Holiness

Dear Church Family,

The Roman world was full of many temptations just like ours is today. Casual sex was a way of life for many. Finding a Christian spouse was difficult. Being lazy and freeloading off of others was commonplace. It wasn’t easy to live a sanctified life pleasing to the Lord. But that didn’t stop the Thessalonians from trying. More and more with God’s help they learned what God’s will is and through the power of the Holy Spirit living in them they found the strength to strive after holiness. With God’s help we too strive to be more like Jesus in all that we do even when this sometimes looks so different from the rest of the world. But we know the Lord who calls us is faithful, and he will do it (1 Thess. 5:24).

Join us this weekend as we come together for worship to receive the support and encouragement we all need whether on Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday morning at 9:30 am.

Our DSC association is sponsoring this event and has made it FREE for attendees. It will take place at DSC of Delray Beach, beginning at 7:00 pm. DSC Family Movie Night: It’s not too late to reserve your tickets! Friday, December 3 at 7:00 pm. Come as a family to enjoy a fun night outside together with a creative movie, The Star, that shows the story of the most important part of Christmas – the birth of our savior, Jesus! Bring your chairs and/or blankets to see the movie that touches the hearts of young and old. Free admission – You must register prior to your arrival and will show your confirmation code for admission. Click here to register.

Puerto Rico DSC Mission Trip: Our DSC family, along with WELS Mission Journeys, is offering an opportunity for you to be part of a short mission trip. Our goal is to support the ministry work going on in Puerto Rico and provide you with a personal experience in mission work and outreach. We can take up to 12 volunteers as a team, half of which should be fluent in Spanish. We will be departing Miami on Thursday, January 27 and returning on Monday, January 31. Volunteers will be responsible to cover the cost of a round trip flight and some other minor expenses. Lodging is provided by our sister congregation in Guayama, Puerto Rico. More details will be provided soon. Please let us know of your interest by completing this form. An application form with down payment will be necessary later.

Countdown to Christmas Gathering: Christmas is coming! As Pastor Ben mentioned last Sunday, we are excited to offer you some tools to use to help stay focused on the true meaning of the season. Gather together with others – to support each other as a family in Christ! Let’s encourage one another and use the relationships God has given to us to share the peace that we have through Jesus! You can pick up your Countdown to Christmas Gathering Kit after worship on Saturday, Dec 4th or Sunday, Dec 5th. In it, we will provide you with tools to make it simple. Who can you invite?
