Someone to Defeat Death

Dear Church Family,

If there’s one thing that is sure in this world, it is the reality of death. No matter who we are, death is coming for all of us and that’s kind of scary to think about. Many people spend lots of money looking for any way to prevent death. We look to those earthly saviors hoping and praying that we can keep death at a distance. While they may prevent death, from a while, they can never save from death. We need a Savior to defeat our greatest enemy! Thankfully, Jesus demonstrates his power over death as he raises Lazarus. This event gives us a foretaste of what is coming in the resurrection. We have a Savior who has and will take care of our greatest need!

Join us this weekend for worship whether on Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday at 9:30 am as we continue our series The Jesus I Need. Pastor Caleb Davisson will be preaching on John chapter 11. On Sunday morning, the 4th grade students from Divine Savior Academy will be singing. I will again be in West Palm Beach to lead worship at our church there as they continue to wait upon getting a pastor.

A quick note: If you’re coming for worship on Sunday morning, please consider parking in the north of the high school so we have enough parking for all our guests. Thank you!

ICYMIWatch my message from this past weekend on how Jesus Is the Savior I Need: Someone to Suffer For Us. Here is a link to this week’s Lent devotion: A Way Through the Sea.

Update on Vote: We are glad to inform you that in our Last Special Voters Assembly meeting the construction of our Worship and Ministry Center WAS APPROVED. Voting tally was 35 votes for YES / 4 votes for NO. The Church Council and its Building Committee have started their action plan to fulfil the Congregation’s decision. We ask for your prayers now that we are switching to execution mode.

Pastor Ben Has a Call: As I mentioned Sunday morning last week, I received a call to serve as the pastor of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Austin, TX. What does this mean? It means that I now have two calls to consider as from the Lord—my call here to serve at Divine Savior in Doral and the additional call I have to serve at Risen Savior. Therefore, I invite your prayers and welcome any feedback you might wish to share with me as to where you think I can best serve the Lord in his kingdom. I pray for the Lord’s wisdom to deliberate this in a godly way in the upcoming days.

Mommy & Me: Our next session is Monday, April4 from 8:45 – 10:00 am. Enjoy a fun morning with your little one where you can connect with others through storytime, music & movement, and play! Children from birth to age 4 and caregivers are welcome! FREE! If you would like to participate and have not yet registered this year, please click here to register

Weekly Devotion Video Resources: Each week in Lent we provide a 15 minute video devotion for you to use within your home with your family and/or invite a friend(s) to worship together and discuss the questions. We pray you take this opportunity to bthe church within your home and within your little community. You can access it on the DSC app or on our YouTube channel. God bless your journey through Lent together!

Easter Celebration: We will have worship services at all of our regularly scheduled times for Easter weekend. We pray you join us and bring a friend or family member that doesn’t yet know our church! Pick up postcard invitations to share! Following each service we want to provide an opportunity to connect with one another as a church family and to welcome any guests. After the Saturday evening service, there will be light refreshments outside the church and goodie bags for toddlers through grade 5. After the Sunday morning service we will celebrate with an Easter brunch in the high school commons and goodie bags and activities for the kids. Please consider how you can serve through the needs requests here. Be sure to select the needs request that corresponds to Saturday or Sunday. If you have any questions about the food, you can contact Kate Londono.
