Dear Church Family,
Do you find it difficult to identify the areas in your spiritual life that require attention and change? Sometimes it’s easier to pick out personal flaws as we see them lived out in the lives of others. Throughout June and July we’ll use the lives of the kings of Israel and Judah as a reality check for our own personal spiritual journeys. We may be surprised at what we learn about ourselves. But we’ll be even more surprised by what we learn about the love and grace of God!
Join Pastor Caleb Schmiege this Sunday as he begins our series with a message on Jeroboam: The Pivotal Pull of Power based on 1 Kings 12:25-13:5. Pastor Steve will be leading worship in West Palm Beach. My family and I will be out of town for a couple days. If you require pastoral care please contact Pastor Caleb or Pastor Steve as I will not always have access to my cell phone.
Remember—Summer Worship Schedule! There is no Saturday service this weekend or throughout the summer months of June-July. Please join us Sundays throughout the summer at our regular 9:30 am time.
ICYMI: Listen to my sermon from last Sunday on Pentecost. Our apologies that the video livestream was not working last week. We were able however to get an audio recording of it.
Pastor’s Report for Annual Meeting – In case you weren’t able to attend the annual meeting last Sunday I’ve attached the report I shared. Please note in it on page 3 the opportunity to participate to our “25 for 2025” campaign necessary for building our new Worship and Ministry Center. Those of you who have expressed your commitment to me verbally, I would ask you please to also now visit our new “25 for 2025” campaign web page to either 1) make your pledge there, or 2) make a contribution. Using the campaign web page we can track all our commitments and demonstrate to the bank our church’s support of this project.
South Atlantic District Convention: Tuesday-Thursday this week I attended our district convention where we had opportunities worship, listen to a wonderful keynote paper on how it’s our Lutheran moment in time, and hear presentations on the global work we are doing as a church body to share the gospel with more and more people. Special encouragement was given to all our churches and schools to help identify and encourage more people to become pastors and teachers.
Women’s Night: Enjoy some fellowship at a casual get together with friends on Thursday, June 16 from 7:00-9:00pm! Ladies, if you’d like to attend this month, please contact Julia Leyrer and let her know you are coming 786-374-4357.
Worship & Ministry Center: June 20 was the projected demo date for construction project of the Worship & Ministry Center. Stay tuned! This date may change. When we know more, we will have a Work Day prior to Demo Day and have a special Groundbreaking Ceremony to kick off this exciting endeavor! We will also transition our Sunday morning worship services into the high school commons for the duration of the project.
