We Want to See JESUS

Dear Church Family,

There is no aspect of our culture or our calendar that hasn’t been affected and influenced by one person. All of history that came before Him points to Him. All of history since Him points back to Him. The one question in our lives that truly matters therefore is, “What are we to believe about Him?” It’s a question we have to answer. Everything in our lives is related to what we know and believe about Him. He is at the center of all history. And He is at the center of the one book that reveals Him to us.

Before the New Testament told us exactly how He came into our world as a human being and what He did for us by living and dying for us, the Old Testament had been telling us for hundreds of years exactly who He is and what He was coming to do. Yes, He was there all along. Do you want to see Him? Our new series starting this Sunday will walk us through the Old Testament and see how Jesus was there all the way along. Join us! We want to see Jesus!

ICYMIWatch my message from this past Sunday as we finished our Mission Possible series and took to heart Jesus’ words, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age!”

Help Coordinate Care and Compassion in Our Church Family – As our church family grows, we realize that it becomes more and more challenging to personally know who may need support and Christian love. If you or someone you know needs care, please help us by letting us know! Use this simple form to help us organize meals, Christian encouragement, and prayers. You can also find this feature on the DSC app. If you have any questions, please talk with team leader, Adriana Moreno

Showing Christian Love – At church on Sunday we will have a special contribution basket to show our love and support for the Marshalls whose house caught fire last Tuesday. In addition to cash, if you wish to make a contribution, Old Navy, Loft, Banana Republic, TJ Maxx, Publix gift cards, can also be left in the basket. Food and new clothes are of the immediate need. We know that Justin & Julia are grateful for the support they have received the last few days. Thank you to Adriana Moreno from our Care and Compassion Team for her help in coordinating our support from our congregation. Please reach out to her with any questions.

Gulf Coast Help – Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Englewood is requesting a team of volunteers this Saturday to help tear out drywall and do some demo work on their church building in preparation for a team from Builders for Christ to begin repairs after Hurricane Ian. Divine Savior Academy High School currently has two students and a chaperone planning to go in a school van. We are hoping there might be some other adults or other high school students in our church who might be willing to go along with them too. Are you willing and able to spend your Saturday helping out? The idea is that we would leave early this Saturday morning in a school van at 6:00 am and arrive at the church in Englewood around 9:00 am. We would work all day until about 4:30 pm. The congregation would feed us. Then we would turn around and head back to Doral and arrive around 9:00 pm. If you are interested, please contact Scott Sievert and let him know ASAP. He is taking the lead in coordinating this effort on short notice. Thank you, Scott!
