Grasping the Scale of God’s Love

Dear Church Family,

Over the last couple weeks we’ve learned a lot of theology, haven’t we? We’ve learned about the nature and character of God. And we’ve studied big concepts related to God such as the eternal election of believers in Christ, salvation by grace alone, and the doctrine of the Church.

Hopefully, God has already expanded your horizon regarding just how much he loves you and what his plans are for you. That is also my prayer echoing Paul’s in the verses that we’re going to apply this coming Sunday in Ephesians 3:14-21. We’ll see a very powerful and practical example of how learning about God, theology, leads naturally to praising God, doxology. In other words, knowing God should always lead to praising God.

I can’t wait to praise God with you this Sunday as we continue our series Know Greater Hope and we gain a better grasp on just how wide, and long, and high, and deep, is the love of Christ Jesus our Savior!

ICYMI – Watch Pastor Caleb’s sermon from last Sunday based on Ephesians 3:1-13.

Youth Confirmation: On Sunday, May 28 we will come together as one church family for a special bilingual worship service to celebrate the students who will be confirmed in their Christian faith. Worship will begin at 10:30am in the high school gymnasium, followed by a cake reception in the commons.

Annual Meeting: Reserve the date on your calendar, Sunday, June 4 to attend our DSC Annual Meeting and hear important congregational updates about our ministry and family in Christ. Grab a cup of coffee on your way.

Opportunity to serve: Offering refreshments right after the worship service is a great time to build relationships with one another. We get the opportunity to meet someone new or just connect with those who are already part of our church family. We only have a very small team of volunteers who serve on this team. Are you willing to bring a snack to share occasionally? Whether you would like to join the team to be put on a rotation for once a month, or if you just want to bring something once, or if you would prefer to donate money to have someone else purchase or prepare a refreshment, any of it would be a blessing! We are looking for help. Please contact Kate Londono if you are willing to serve in any way or have questions. (407) 394-6474.

College of Ministry Graduate – Pastor Track: Juan David Escobar Amaya has graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota where he received a bachelor of arts degree in his preparation to become a pastor. He was recognized for serving as campus student body president for the past year and will begin the second phase of his studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin in the fall. He is a “son of our congregation” and a 2019 graduate of DSA. We wish him God’s richest blessings as he continues to serve the Lord!
