Dear Church Family,
God gave him a chance. He tried to stop him.
“Sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it” (Genesis 4:7).
But Cain couldn’t gain control of himself. Unfortunately, sin had its way with him. His brother Abel wound up dead. Cain wound up distanced from God.
That’s why this Sunday we’ll be focusing on self-control. In a world with limitless possibilities and so many temptations to indulge in instant gratification, self-control may seem elusive and difficult. But with God all things are possible!
So please join me this Sunday as we continue seeking God’s wisdom in the book of Proverbs about the importance of self-control, where we can find the power to put it into practice, and where to find peace when we fall short.

WELS Choral Fest – DSA’s High School choir, Una Voz, will be performing at Wisconsin Lutheran College to participate in the 2023 WELS National Choral Fest. They join 22 other Christian high schools to put on a pops concert (tonight) and a sacred concert (Sunday afternoon). Follow the links below if you would like to watch them live.

DSYouth: Middle School or High school students, you’re invited to join us for DSYouth on Friday, November 10 from 6:00-8:00pm. in It’s an opportunity for students to study the Bible together, pray together, and talk about how we live as followers of Jesus in our world. If you’re the parent of a Middle School or High School student, you are invited to join our parent group that meets during this time. We hope to see you there! Our motto is “Disciples of Christ, Stronger Together. We’ll meet in the high school commons, as normal. Click here for the required Parent Consent and here for Student Registration. (You only need to do this once this year.)
All Pro Dad: Any dads and their kids who are in Kindergarten through 6th grade can team up with other dads and kids at our school once a month for All Pro Dad! We meet before school from 7:00-8:00 am in the high school commons for a free breakfast and a character based-curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids. Baby Bottle Campaign: Miami Dade County has one of the highest abortion rates in the nation. As Christians we want to protect life and there is an opportunity for you to protect the life of the unborn. Grace Women’s Care Center is a Christian organization in Miami that provides counseling, ultrasounds, and Scriptural advice to women who find themselves with an unexpected pregnancy. If you would like, you can pick up a baby bottle after the worship service and fill it with coins, bills, or a check to support Grace Women’s Center. We will ask you to return the filled bottle for collection later this month.
