Dear Church Family,
God manages this world by way of two realms of authority—sometimes called “two kingdoms.” As Christians, we live in these different “kingdoms” at the same time – the kingdom of power (secular authority), and the kingdom of grace (spiritual authority). In other words, while on earth, Christians live life under two realms of influence and authority.
Under secular authority, we are called to submit to the governing authorities that be. Particular forms of government and specific laws are human inventions. Nevertheless, their authority comes from God. Our willingness to yield to the legitimate governing authorities is part of how we honor God. But we do this remembering there is one true King, and He isn’t voted in. We honor our leaders in earthly government, but we worship The King who alone can change hearts through His holy word. Our submission to earthly leaders shows that our highest allegiance is to our heavenly King.
The truth is, we are free. We are free in Jesus – in the living hope of Easter! So let’s live as free people, which means, as servants honoring God above all things. We aren’t the first to suffer for what we believe or how we live as Christians. Jesus suffered and died for us.
So now we are called to follow in His steps as people who have living hope. We will never have to suffer what He did. And at moments of unjust suffering, we will discover whom we truly worship. Join us worship this Sunday as we continue our sermon series on 1 Peter: The Living Hope of Easter.

All Pro Dad: Any dads and their kids who are in Kindergarten through 6th grade can team up with other dads and kids at our school once a month for All Pro Dad! We meet before school from 7:00-8:00 AM in the high school commons for a free breakfast and a character based-curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids.
