Dear Church Family,
You will find them on greeting cards, artwork hanging on walls, and from the mouths of well-meaning friends – Bible passages that have been taken out of context and misapplied. Applied in ways often very appealing to our human nature! So they’re popular, repeated, and treasured by many. But it’s only when we consider the context in which a Bible passage is written that we will truly understand what God is saying to us through it. And it will always lead us back to Jesus, not to ideas that produce false hope. Over the summer in this new series we will look at some commonly misapplied Bible passages, consider the context in which they were written, and rejoice in the truth they reveal.
Join us this Sunday at 9:30 am as we gather together for worship as God’s people. Pastor Caleb will be kicking off our new series by looking at Proverbs 22:6. Does this verse give the secret to foolproof parenting? Come and find out. I’ll be out of town officiating a wedding this weekend.

Welcome our new DSC Council Members!: Last week Sunday at our annual meeting, our members elected 3 new people to serve as leaders on our council: Santiago Botero, Marco Padovan, and Luiz Taves. Please pray for them and all those serving in leadership in our church family. May God grant them wisdom, patience, and joy. May the Lord bless the efforts of all of us as we serve together to change more lives with Jesus here in Doral!
WELS South Atlantic District Convention: This coming week from Tuesday through Thursday many of the called workers of our congregation (church and school) will be traveling to attend the annual district convention to hear important updates and receive encouragement to carry out ministry. Specifically this year they will address the changing spiritual landscape of our society, what is being done to reach people, and consider new ways of sharing the Gospel. May God bless their travel and time together!
