This Sunday we begin a three-week sermon series that walks through the foundational steps of becoming and growing as disciples of Jesus, emphasizing the transformation that comes from living a life changed by Him. Each week corresponds to a step in our DSC discipleship pathway: Discover (Week 1), Start and Grow, (Week 2), Integrate and Engage (Week 3).
In this Sunday’s sermon, we discover the initial encounter of John’s disciples with Jesus, where they are invited to “come and see” (John 1:39). This invitation is not just to observe, but to discover who Jesus is. As Jesus asks, “Who do you say I am?” we understand that He is the answer to life’s biggest questions.
At Divine Savior Church, we emphasize the importance of discovering Jesus through spending time with Him and our church family. Youth Confirmation Class ORIENTATION – RSVP: Students entering 7th or 8th grade who would like to become confirmed members of our church family are invited to RSVP for Youth Confirmation Class Orientation. Youth Confirmation Class is for students who attend DSA or public schools and will be offered on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. All NEW students and their parents must attend the Youth Confirmation Orientation on Saturday, August 24th from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Please click here to RSVP for the orientation.
Youth Confirmation Class REGISTRATION – returning students: Families with students who will be in year 2 of Youth Confirmation Class, should register for the class. Click here by August 21. Class begins on August 28th 7:00-8:30 pm.
DSKids Sunday: This Sunday, August 18th, is DSKids Sunday! We want to celebrate the families involved in our DSKids ministry program and welcome any new families with children beginning in DSKids for the first time, as well as celebrate those moving into 4th grade with a special presentation during the worship service. We will also encourage those moving on to DSYouth! After the worship service, all families who participate in the DSKids ministry are invited to participate in one of three Home Builder sessions. Each session will help equip parents to gather around God’s Word in their home, where their family can grow closer together and closer to Jesus.
Choose an area where you can serve!: We are excited about what God is doing through us here at Divine Savior! There are many opportunities to serve on one of our DSC teams and as we continue to grow, we need more help in ministry. Some teams require a little bit of training; others are quite simple and do not. We are blessed by all of our volunteer leaders and if you already serve on one of our teams, thank you! If you would like to try something new or don’t yet have a team, please click here to see what areas you may be interested in. Teens, of course, can receive credit hours for the time they serve.
