Dear Church Family,
When things aren’t going your way, does your family support you or make it harder? Those of you who are married…are you and your spouse a team, strong when the other is weak, and regularly encouraging each other? Or do you sometimes panic or lash out, making it even more difficult? People react differently to the same difficult circumstances. Job and his wife had very different reactions to their hardships. This Sunday we’ll explore what we can learn from Job about dealing with relationship pain. And we’ll all learn just how important having a church family is in which we can be supported while also helping to carry each other’s burdens.
I look forward to worshiping with you this weekend! Join me this Sunday at 9:30 am as we continue our series based on the book of Job. And of special note: this Sunday we’ll also welcome 5th graders from our Divine Savior Academy who will be singing in church. I can’t wait to hear them sing and welcome them and their families to our church family!

DSYouth – Our next DSYouth session is TODAY, September 20 from 6:00-8:00pm! If you’re a family with Middle School or High school students and you’re interested in growing as a disciple of Jesus alongside other Christians, DSYouth is for you! We study the Bible together, pray together, and talk about how we live as followers of Jesus in our world. We also enjoy games and snacks each time we meet. Our motto is “Disciples of Christ, Stronger Together. We’ll meet in the Worship Center. Please enter through the Ministry Center Reception, by 58th Street. Click here for the required Parent Consent and here for Student Registration. (You only need to do this once this year.) Guests in worship – We are excited to welcome the 5th grade class of DSA to sing in our worship services this Sunday, September 22. Half of the group will sing in our English service at 9:30 am. The other half will sing in our Spanish service at 11:30 am. It is a great opportunity for each of us to welcome the students and their families to join us for the service. Please take a moment to introduce yourself as you greet someone new!
Faith and Family Night: This Wednesday 7:00-8:30 pm. Come for Bible Study from 7:00-8:10, stay for Worship from 8:15-8:30 pm, or just come for Worship. This week again 25 people attended our Bible study and about 60 of us gathered for worship including our Youth Confirmation students. Join us again next Wednesday!
Choose an area where you can serve! – We are excited about what God is doing through us here at Divine Savior! There are many opportunities to serve on one of our DSC teams and as we continue to grow, we need more help in ministry. Some teams require a little bit of training; others are quite simple and do not. We are blessed by all of our volunteer leaders and if you already serve on one of our teams, thank you! If you would like to try something new or don’t yet have a team, please click here to see what areas you may be interested in. Teens, of course, can receive credit hours for the time they serve.
