Dear Church Family,
One of the quickest ways to worsen our problems is to focus solely on ourselves, making everything about us. It might seem counter-intuitive, but life works better when we center it around God, because life is ultimately about Him. With some of the most powerful questions in Scripture, God reminds Job that the universe doesn’t revolve around him, but around God. A life centered on God will never disappoint, while a self-centered life always will. Join me tomorrow here at church in-person or online at 9:30 am for the final week of our series to hear God’s powerful words at the end of the book of Job.

DSYouth Family Cookout RESCHEDULED – Families with middle school and high school students: If you’re interested in growing as a disciple of Jesus alongside other Christians, DSYouth is for you! We study the Bible together, pray together, and talk about how we live as followers of Jesus in our world. Our motto is “Disciples of Christ, Stronger Together. Our annual DSYouth Family Cookout will be on Saturday, Oct 26 where students and parents come together to enjoy a special Bible study, good food, and fun games! Hurricane Relief – WELS Christian Aid and Relief. Many church members across our South Atlantic District and here in Florida have suffered significant damage to homes and property as a result of Hurricane Helene and now Hurricane Milton. To give a gift in support of disaster relief efforts, please visit wels.net/CARgift and designate your gift for Disaster Relief. WELS Christian Aid and Relief is in contact with all our district congregations and leaders coordinating efforts. This is a great way to help those impacted especially while first responders and linesmen are still hard at work assessing and helping in the immediate aftermath.

Pastor Ben Has a Call – Last week I received a call from CrossWalk Lutheran Ministries in Phoenix, AZ to be the pastor of their Midtown church campus in Phoenix. It’s an urban mission church setting. What does this mean? It’s another opportunity to listen, learn, pray, and ultimately decide where I think I can best glorify God and serve in His kingdom at this time. Sarah and I gladly welcome any feedback you have and, as always, we invite your prayers. Thank you for being our family in Christ!
